This is a near fine (almost like new) leather-bound hardcover. 1976 Franklin Library Limited Edition. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. NOTE: only minor flaw is fading inside front cover where previous owners bookplate removed (see photo). Accented with fine binding appointments, this edition features gold design front and back with all three page edges tipped in gold gilt. Hubbed spine and attached satin bookmark. Fine Smyth sewn binding for durability and ascetics. This edition is finely illustrated by Robert J. Lee. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 462 pages.
A Fable by William Faulkner was first published in 1954. It is a work of historical fiction that takes place in France during World War One. In 1955 it won both the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award for fiction.
