This is a very good hardcover with good dust jacket. Fourth Printing, Nov. 1969 Knopf Publishing. This copy is very good inside and out. The inside pages are actually still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Tan cloth hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is good, showing some shelf wear including tear top front right corner which has been neatly taped to preserve integrity. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 292 pages.
This edition of A Place in The Woods by Helen Hoover has been finely illustrated by Adrian Hoover. This copy is a 4th Printing, Nov. 1969 by Knopf Publishing. The book tells of how Helen and her husband left the big city and settled in a remote cabin in the Minnesota northern wilderness. Neither of the pair had any experience in nature. Their first year was dotted with near-disasters. But they persevered. They realized their desire to live a simple Thoreau-like life was not enough. Leaky roofs needed fixed, the ax must be mastered in preparation for winter, and despite setbacks they rebuilt their cabin and their life.
