This is a good hardcover. 1904 Charles Scribner's Publishing. This copy is good inside and out. NOTE: there is mild binding separation inside front cover (see photo) but pages at that location are still tight to binding. Their rest of binding appears tight and straight. Inside back cover there is light spots of foxing and mild wearing away of inside back page from binding but not serious at this point. Overall this copy is good and solid. The pages are clean w no foxing or serious tanning, only a hint of light natural tanning to pages from age. Blue hardcover boards feature illustration of two little boys front w gold lettering and are very good with only light wear. The lettering and design along the spine is still very good given age with only a hint of fading. Overall the hardcover boards are good, solid with light wearing. Medium octave book size or 7" x 9" with 156 pages not including 8 pages of advertising of additional books from Scribners.
Two Little Confederates by Thomas Nelson Page is a story about the Civil War as seen through the eyes of two little southern boys. It hints to the "Lost Cause" narrative and southern sympathy. 8 illustrations add to the narrative and perspective and engage readers imagination of the story. Originally published in 1888, this is the 1904 edition.
