This is a very good smaller hardcover. 1946 Everyman's Library. This copy is very good inside and out. the pages only have a hint of light natural tanning from age and are very clean. The binding is tight and straight. Purple cloth hardcover boards are also very good with only light shelf wear. Smaller hardcover designed to be carried around in purse or pocket. 12mo book size or 4.5" x 7" with 241 pages including index.

It includes a preface to this revised edition along with the original preface when published. It was originally compiled by J.G. Bartholomew and revised by Samuel McKee Jr. over 70 colored maps and 25 line maps and plans of notable battles and districts connected with famous authors and their books. Line maps include Battle of Bunker Hill, Siege of Charleston, Plan of West Point, Plan of New York in 1746, Virginia in American Fiction, New Amsterdam 1650 and more. Colored maps include; North and South America, Discoveries of Columbus, Colonies in Central North America 1643, Canada 1791 and 1841, The United States 1803, Western Railroads 1869-90, Mexico and West Indies, Quebec, Mexico, Alaska, South America, Panama Canal, Brazil and more. There is also a Brief Survey of the Coinage of North and South America included.
