This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover. 1977 Holt Rinehart Winston Publishing. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages inside are still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Olive green hardcover boards feature gold title lettering front and gold title/author/publisher lettering along spine. The hardcover boards are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. Royal octavo book size or 7' x 10"
The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden is a facsimile copy of the 1906 naturalists diary. The English naturalist documented in fine illustrations and detailed text each months observations and wonders. It is beautifully illustrated with the reproduction paintings of her observations. Holden was an English artist and teacher. Holden became famous for the posthumous publication of her Nature Notes for 1906. The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady in 1977 is the facsimile publication. Tragically, Holden drowned in the Thames in 1920.
