This is a very good hardcover. 1947 University of California Press Berkeley CA. This copy is very good inside and out. The pages inside are very good and very clean with only very light natural tanning from age. The binding is tight and straight. Red hardcover boards are also very good and clean with only light shelf wear. There is some fading of the title lettering along spine but is it still very good given age. Super octavo book size or 7" x 11" w 680 pages including appendix.
This edition of Newton's Principe Motte's Translation Revised is titled Sir Isaac Newton's Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy and His System of the World. Is was originally translated into English by Andrew Motte in 1729. The translations revised with an historical and explanatory appendix by Florian Cajori. Contents include;
