This is a near fine (almost like new) 5 volume set w accompanying slipcase. 2001 Second Printing The Folio Society. All 5 volumes in this set are still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean w no markings seen. Bound in a fine and handsome sewn binding, all bindings are tight and straight. Each hardcover boards feature gold design and title/author front with title and publisher in gold on spine. All hardcover boards are also near fine with only a hint of shelf wear, three are in maroon and gold and two are in blue and gold colors. Each volume is standard medium octavo book size or 7" x 9". The accompanying slipcase is near fine, bound in blue and maroon with gold design and title lettering on the sides. There is only a hint of shelf wear to slipcase.
The Story of the Renaissance contains 5 volumes by select authors chronicling the Renaissance. The titles are as follows; The Flowering of the Renaissance by Vincent Cronin, Europe From Renaissance to Reformation by G.R. Elton, The Renaissance in Europe by J.R. Hale, The Florentine Renaissance by Vincent Cronin, and Travel and Discovery in the Renaissance by Boies Penrose.
