In The Cleveland Orchestra "Second to None", music historian and critic Donald Rosenberg tells the story of the people and events that shaped this classic music legend. Under the baton of its first two conductors, Cleveland built a roster of expert musicians and and a reputation of one of the best orchestras in America. Then, genius arrived. George Szell "Master Builder" forged the precision for which Cleveland is still known. His legacy continues to "nip at the heels" of those who followed. Anyone who takes the helm is challenged to continue the tradition of "Second to None".
