This is a very 2 volume set of hardcovers w accompanying slipcase. 1949 MacMillan Publishing First Printing. This set is very good inside and out. PLEASE NOTE INSIDE VOLUME ONE is previous owners name/date completed/ and "gift" from relative written in blue ink script (see photo). No other markings seen in the volumes. The rest of the pages in both are very good and clean. The bindings are tight and straight. The binding is secured with a fine sewn binding for durability and looks. Blue hardcover boards on both are very good with only light shelf wear and feature gold stars front and gold lettering along spine. Each volume is standard octavo book size or 6" x 9". The accompanying slipcase is also very good but does have light shelf wear to edges The paste down, wrap-around sleeve is very good and features a synopsis of the volumes and title/author/publisher and original price of $12.50
