This is a very good hardcover. Circa 1970's Kingsport Press Illustrated Junior Library for Grosset & Dunlap original publishers of Jr Library in 1948. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages only have a hint of light natural tanning from age and are clean. The binding fine sewn binding as found in Illustrated Jr Library to ensure durability. The binding is tight and straight. Hardcover boards are illustrated in full color front with solid blue back. Boards are very good with only light shelf wear. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" X 9.5" with 479 pages and color illustrated endpapers front and back. Original Illustrated Jr Library books would be Grosset & Dunlap and not include the Kingsport Press note on copyright page so many are NOT original 1940 editions, rather circa 1970 reprints. Check copyright pages for appropriate edition information.
Kingsport Press continued the tradition of Illustrated Jr Library books, reprinting the titles in the 1970's for Grosset and Dunlap the original publishers in the 1940's. The edition of A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens has been finely illustrated by Rafaello Busoni. The classic tale has long been at the top of great literary fiction.
