This is a very good hardcover. Circa 1970's Kingsport Press Illustrated Junior Library for Grosset & Dunlap original publishers of Jr Library in 1948. Finely illustrated with the original Land Ward art. The pages only have a hint of light natural tanning from age and are very clean. The binding is tight and straight featuring a fine sewn binding for durability. Hardcover boards are also very good and feature full color illustration front and solid blue back cover. The boards only show light shelf wear, mostly to back cover. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 340 pages and color illustrated endpapers front and back.
This edition of Kidnapped by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson is a reprint circa 1970's from Kingsport Press for Grossett and Dunlap the original publishers of Illustrated Jr Library in 1948. Kingsport Press carried on the tradition of finely illustrated classic literature for children and young adults.
Originally published in 1886, the historical adventure fiction novel set around real 18th century Scottish events. It has long held a place atop the classic literature genre. This edition is finely illustrated by Lynd Ward.
