This is a very good hardcover. Circa 1970's Kingsport Press Illustrated Junior Library for Grosset & Dunlap original publishers of Jr Library in 1949. The pages only have a hint of light natural tanning from age and are very clean. The binding is tight and straight featuring a fine swan binding for durability. Hardcover boards are also very good and feature full color illustration front and solid red back cover. The boards only show light shelf wear, mostly to back cover. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 358 pages and color illustrated endpapers front and back. Original Illustrated Jr Library books would be Grosset & Dunlap and not include the Kingsport Press note on copyright page so many are NOT original 1940 editions, rather circa 1970 reprints. The Illustrated Jr Library edition of Jo's Boys by Louisa May Alcott was originally published in 1949 by Grosset and Dunlap Publishing for the Illustrated Junior Library classic literature series for children and young adults.
