This is a near fine (almost like new) leather-bound hardcover. First Edition 2001 from Easton Press as originally published by Knopf Publishing. This copy is crisp and clean as new inside and out. Easton Press reprinted this title in 2001 complete with fine binding appointments for collectors. Bound in olive green leather, the binding features gold gilt bird design and lettering front along with like title/author lettering along spine. Silk moire fabric endpapers and attached satin bookmark. All three pages edges are tipped in gold. Hubbed spine and Smyth sewn fine binding finish the fine appointment binding. The leather bound hardcover boards are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. Inside pages are crisp and clean. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 351 pages.

This edition has been reprinted by Easton Press with the accompanying fine binding appointments for collectors. It is a complete guide to birds and birding. Part Two contains Bird Families of North America along with appendices. It is finely illustrated by David A. Sibley.
