This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 1993 Konecky and Konecky Publishing edition. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean w no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. The accompanying dust jacket is also near fine with only a hint of shelf wear. Black hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine. Standard medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 353 pages including index.
Originally published in 1959, this is the 1993 Konecky Publishing edition of Dee Alexander Brown's book Morgan's Raiders. In 1861, Morgan's Raiders rode into the Civil War and soon attained legendary fame. Officially the 2nd Kentucky Cavalry, they called themselves the "Alligator Horses". They rode the finest horses and were heroes in the South and outlaws in the North. If captured they escaped and returned to raiding, recruiting, and "borrowing" horses and supplies.
But in 1865, they were a shattered regiment whose last formation was escorting Jefferson Davis on his flight from Richmond.
