This is a good hardcover inside and out. 1945 Scribners Publishing. Illustrator N.C. Wyeth. This copy is overall very good. There is light natural tanning to pages from age but they are clean with bright colorful illustrations. The binding is tight and straight. Pages tight to binding. You will notice inside front cover, first two blank pages, the binding is showing slight separation at top corner. BUT the pages are still intact and attached to binding. The cover features illustration with title lettering. There is some fading of the illustration and lettering but good, apparent, given age. Gold title/author/publisher lettering along spine less faded and clear. Medium octavo book size or 7" x 9.5" with 400 pages.
The Yearling by by American writer Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings was first published in 1938. It won the Pulitzer Prize for literature in 1939. The story is about family, love, loss and growing into maturity along with the realizations and implications it can have.
