This is a very good hardcover, NO dust jacket, jacket missing. First Abridged Edition 1963 Knopf Publishing. This copy is very good inside and out. The pages are very clean and actually still crisp. The binding is tight and straight. Fine sewn binding adds to style and binding on this edition. The red hardcover boards feature gold design front and title/author/publisher lettering on spine. The hardcover boards are also very good with only very light shelf wear. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 778 pages not including List of Words and Phrases and index which is an additional 124 pages.
