This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1988 Abbeville Press. This copy is still crisp and clean inside. The pages are crisp and clean w no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Maroon cloth hardcover boards under dust jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear and feature gold longhorn design front and gold title lettering spine. The accompanying dust jacket is good, showing light shelf wear to edges/corners but overall good. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 485 pages.
Frederic Remington Selected Letters as been edited by Allen and Marilyn Splete. Remington was one of the most famous chroniclers of the Old West. Painter, sculptor, illustrator, his works are amongst the finest to date. His letters were that of a busy man and include sketches that take the place of a more wordy and lengthy style. They are fascinating and reveal the mind of a major American artist. The letters start when he was a boy in military school and follow him through the American Old West, to Europe, to Cuba and during the Spanish-American War. They end just before his death. The book features the letters and illustrations that accompanied them.
