Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift was first published in 1762. This edition is finely illustrated by Aldrin Watson. The novel begins with Gulliver telling readers of his life and history before his voyages. On his first voyage, he is found shipwrecked with tiny people on the island country of Lilliput. Once assuring the people of his good behavior and promise to to harm the tiny inhabitants, he is welcomed with skepticism. That later changes after an island fight with neighbors wherein Gulliver helps but refuses to continue the conquest. He is convicted of treason and flees the island. Additional adventures ensure as he continues his travels.
