This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with accompanying slipcase. 1971 Heritage Press. Includes original accompanying Heritage Press Sandglass pamphlet. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean w no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Hardcover boards are bound in burnt orange with gold design and lettering on spine. The accompanying slipcase is very good with only very light shelf wear. Super octavo book size or 7z' x 11" with 204 pages.
Washington Square by Henry James was published in 1880. The novel was adapted into a play called "The Heiress" which then was adapted into film, and became an award winner. The plot centers around a father who is trying to thwart the marriage of his daughter who is naive and father believes the man is marrying her for money. Olivia de Havilland starred in the Academy Award winning film.
