This is a good larger hardcover. 1916 Vitalogy Society Volume Two ONLY. This copy is good given age. The binding is solid and the pages are tight to binding. Inside pages are very clean with only a hint of light natural tanning from age. Marbled endpapers front and back with decorative outer pages edges in marble design. The hardcover boards are good, there IS wearing and top front left corner beginning to wear through binding (see photo). But the wearing is considered normal given age and the hardcover boards are solid and tight to binding. Most wear to cover is along edges where rubbing has occurred. The cover is bound in pebble leather-like boards with gold title lettering front and spine. Only mild foxing seen is inside front and back cover to blank pages. Inside pages have escaped foxing and are very good for age.
Larger hardcover, super octavo book size or 7" x 11" with 770 pages. NOTE: inside back cover on last page there is a notation from a previous owner "for the sweats" with a paragraph written in pencil on how to manage "the sweats".

Vitalogy or Encyclopedia of Health and Home was originally published in 1904 in a two volume set. This is VOLUME TWO ONLY! Frontispiece photo features one of the authors, E.H. Ruddock, and still has tissue guard in place. There is one overlay of the head and brain included along with medical illustrations and extensive photos of contributors to information contained. The information contained was at the time considered first-hand knowledge of health and home. From medical analysis to putting children to bed properly, it covers home remedies, diseases, anecdotes and advice. Methods of preparing food, healthy residences, diets and homeopathy chapters are included. Rare vintage medical book with early practices in medicine and home health at the time.
