This is a good, solid and nice hardcover, no dust jacket, jacket missing. 1963 Lippincott Publishing. This copy is clean inside and out. The pages do have very light natural tanning from age but are clean and free of foxing. The binding is tight and straight. Green hardcover boards are good, showing light shelf wear. Gold illustration front cover has minimal fading and the gold title/author/publisher lettering on spine is good, also with only minimal fading. The hardcover boards do show light shelf wear, including a "bump" top front right corner but are good, clean and solid overall. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 240 pages. Illustrated endpapers front and back.
The Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett was first published in 1905. It tells the story of a little girl named Sara who is the daughter of a diamond merchant. She is a privileged student at the girls school and treated a such. But suddenly her family fortune is lost and she is being treated much differently. With fierce determination, she is fights to maintain dignity and remain a "princess" inside. This edition is finely illustrated by Tasha Tudor.
