This is a very good small hardcover. Everyman's Library 1937 reprint. This copy is very good inside and out. NOTE: inside front cover you can tell there was a paper or note previous stored as it left the trademark brown outline, see photo. Otherwise the inside is very clean with only light natural tanning to other pages from age. The pages are very clean otherwise. The binding is tight and straight. Red hardcover boards are also very good with only light shelf wear. Small embossed design front cover and gold title/author/publisher lettering along spine. Small hardcover designed to carry in pocket or purse for reading anywhere. 12mo book size or 5" x 7" with 462 page not including a classified list of of the first 937 volumes from Everyman's Library books and an appendix.
Villette by Charlotte Brontë was originally written in 1853 After an unspecified family disaster, the main character, Lucy Snowe travels from England to a fictional city named Villette for a teaching job. Upon her arrival she finds herself drawn into adventure and romance.
