This is a good small hardcover. Circa assumed 1930's T. Nelson Publishing, New York reprinted from the Every Boys Library series. This copy is good inside and out. There is some very mild foxing inside with light natural tanning to pages from age. There are no markings seen and the pages are clean. The color illustrations are very good and still colorful with no fading. The binding is tight and straight, with normal wearing. Bound in blue hardcover boards, the front cover feature design and gold title lettering. The design and lettering carried over to spine. The cover is good, showing some shelf wear both not seriously faded with normal wearing. This is a small hardcover, 18mo book size or 4" x 5.75" designed at the time for carrying around in pocket to read anywhere.
Every Boys Library was a series originally published under the backing of the Boy Scouts of America. The series contained 73 books of titles selected that included themes of interest to young boys The series was republished by Grosset and Dunlap beginning in 1912 through the 1930's. When T Nelson published some of the series it is assumed late 1930'3-'40's. There is no copyright date or copyright pages in this edition. This reprint from T. Nelson contains very nice color illustrations that highlight natural history. There are 32 color plates in total.
