A Woman's Life by Guy de Maupassant was first published in French in 1883. This edition contains the original Heritage Press Sandglass pamphlet and is finely illustrated by Eddy Legrand with an Intro by Edmond Jaloux. It was translated from the French by Marjorie Laurie. The novel centers around Jeanne, a woman who moves from girlhood to marriage and innocence to disillusionment. She is a woman dreaming of love and happiness only to find heartbreak and hardship. It is considered a tragic tale ending with Jeanne being a widow.
