Pages are still crisp, clean and free of markings. Handsome sewn binding is tight and straight. Decorated linen cover boasts red filigree and lettering. Illustrated by Steven Spurrier. Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens was the authors third novel published in serial form from 1838-1839. It was then published in single volume book form. The novel remains one of the most popular of Dickens and English literature. The novel tells of Nicholas, his sister Kate and their mother after the death of their father and husband leaves them destitute. They must seek help from their rich but cold-hearted uncle, Ralph Nickleby. A large host of characters fill the pages as Nicholas and his family try to navigate the circumstances that have befallen them.
