Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King Rare Books Fantasy Fiction

This is a very good set of three hardcovers with accompanying slipcase. 1978 Houghton Mifflin Publishing. Each hardcover is very good inside and out. The inside pages of all are still crisp and clean. The bindings on all three are tight and straight. Each volume still contains the original attached map that accompanied them when published. Black cloth hardcover boards on each are also very good and feature Tolkien's original "Ring and Eye" device emblem in a different color each that matches the unique top stain to top page edges of each volume. The accompanying dust jacket are very good BUT each has very small tears along edges as seen in photos. Regardless, dust jacket very good given age and they are all very clean and still holding shine. This is the revised edition of 1978 and the date and published or Houghton Mifflin is stated under the title on the accompanying slipcase. Each has durable and fine sewn binding and all three bindings are tight and straight. There is no price inside dust jacket flaps as published in this 1978 3 volume set which indicates book club edition, not trade edition. Each volume is standard octavo book size or 6" x 9". The accompanying slipcase is in good condition and showing some wear along top edge one side, but solid and good given age.

The 3 volume set of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings includes The Two Towers, The Return of the King, and The Fellowship of the Ring. Each volume in this set still contains the original attached map at the back of the book as published. Collectible set for any Tolkien fan.
