This is a near fine (almost like new) large coffee table size book. 1992 Sierra Club Books. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Maroon cloth hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear. Large coffee table size book, slightly larger than quart book size or 11" x 13" with 89 pages.
This is the American Earth by Ansel Adams and Nancy Newhall was first published to much acclaim in 1960. As part of its centennial celebration, the Sierra Club reissued this edition in 1992. Reprinted in rich duotones from new prints supplied by the Ansel Adams Trust, the pictures exhibit the stark contrast between the spaces forever altered by the forces of development and those left unscarred by human presence. This edition features an Intro by Beaumont and Christi Newhall with a foreword by David Brower.
