This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. First Limited Edition from Aspen Press, 1974. This copy is very good and clean inside and out. The inside pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Brown cloth hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is very good with light shelf wear. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 95 pages.
This edition of The Methods of Uncle Abner by Melville Davisson Post is a 1974 Limited First Edition from Aspen Press, limited to 1500 copies. The book is a novelette and three short stories in the series critics hailed as the finest American detective short stories since Poe. Uncle Abner was a country squire of pre-Civil War West Virginia and one of the most memorable detectives. The stories began appearing in in magazines in 1911. Uncle Abner was hailed as the first true American detective. Contents of the book are; Intro: The Book of Abner, The Mystery at Hillhouse, The God of the Hills, The Dark Night, and The Devil's Track.
