This is a very good set of two hardcovers with accompanying slipcase. 1959 William Morrow Publishing. This set is very good inside and out. NOTE: there is mild dust spotting along outer page edges but does not carry over to inside. You can see the spotting in several photos BUT inside pages there is no foxing, spotting etc seen. the pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The bindings on both are tight and straight. Red hardcover boards also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying slipcase still has the original paste-down featuring title/author/publisher info and illustration. Slipcase in good condition showing light shelf wear. Each volume is medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5".
Stonewall Jackson by Lenoir Chambers is a study in the life of the Confederate General and military officer. Volume One is subtitled The Legend and The Man to Valley V and begins with his boyhood and continues through West Point, Mexico, Fort Hamilton, Fort Mead, Lexington, Harpers Ferry and The Valley V. Volume Two is subtitled Seven Days I to The Last March. It begins with Seven Days l and ll, goes through Second Manassas, Maryland, Fredericksburg, Winter at Moss Neck, Chancellorsville, and The Last March. Each volume is extensively illustrated with maps.
