This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with accompanying slipcase. 8th Impression 1990 The Folio Society. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Yellow hardcover boards feature illustrations front and back and are also near fine. The accompanying slipcase is near fine with only a hint of shelf wear. Smaller book size, crown octavo size or 5" x 9" with 165 pages.
Diary of a Nobody by George and Weedon Grossmith was published in 1892 with illustrations by Weedon. It began as a serial in Punch magazine from 1888-1889. This Folio Society edition has been finely illustrated by John Lawrence. The book is about the daily life of a London clerk, Charles Pooter, his wife, son and friends during a period of just over one year. The book has never been out of print and recognized as a classic work of comedy.
