This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 1997 Arms and Armour Press. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. During the throes of the air war of 1939-1945, the once all-conquering Luftwaffe was forced to scrape together a volunteer force of pilots in one last fling against the now dominant Allied bombers, and in particular, the U.S. 8th Air Force. The remnants of the Luftwaffe chose a target on the 8th Air Force. They were desperate to quell the fire from the skies and give the German jets some success. It was a daring mission taking desperate measures. The book describes the mission in great detail and length. It is essential history into the often ignored final days of World War Two.
