This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 1994 Praeger Publishing. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages inside are crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Green hardcover boards with tan quarter trim under jacket are also near fine. The accompanying dust jacket is near fine, still clean and shiny with only a hint of shelf wear. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 191 pages.

When in 1968 an American rifle battalion known as the "First Wolfhounds" landed near Dau Tieng, a rest area controlled by the North Vietnamese Army, they expected to interdict the NVA supply line within three days. Instead, the soldiers found a network of troops, headquarters, hospitals, supplies and local support for the NVA. It seemed impossible, even for the Wolfhounds - known for their fighting strength - to continue and control the area. This book chronicles their daily and deadly contact with the NVA their attempts to win local support, and their struggle to survive. Eight months later, the Wolfhounds succeeded.
