This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 1984 Edition John Murray Publishing, London. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen The binding is tight and straight. Decorative red cloth hardcover boards under jacket feature Gold title/author lettering on spine and are also near fine. The accompanying dust jacket is clean and shiny with only a hint of shelf wear. Crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" with 432 pages including index of places and counties and index of first lines.
Sir John Betjeman was an English poet. He was Poet Laureate from 1972 until his death in 1984. He was a founding member of The Victorian Society and lover of Victorian architecture. The edition is a complete collection EXCEPT for Summoned by Bells (1960) and Uncollected Poems which remain separate volumes. This edition includes an intro by Lord Birkenhead along with index of first lines and index of places and counties.
