This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. BCE 1986 Scribners Publishing. This copy is very good inside and out. NOTE: there is a small scuff inside front cover where previous store sticker removed. No other marks seen. The pages are still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear BUT jacket is neatly price clipped inside front flap. NOTE: although copyright page states "First Edition" the dust jacket gives away that this is NOT a first edition as inside jacket there is a bottom note "book of the month club main selection". Therefore this is a reprint. Always make sure first editions are such by checking hints that give away the true edition such as BOMC selection or lack of first edition points, many publishers simply did not change the copyright page on reprints giving the false impression that books may be first editions. The hardcover boards under jacket are very good but do have light shelf wear and some dust spotting, nevertheless considered very good and solid. This copy is standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 247 pages.

The Garden of Eden a Novel by Ernest Hemingway was the second Hemingway book published posthumously. It is the story of love and obsession that tells the tale of an American writer in Paris who is on his honeymoon with his new wife and about the woman to whom they are both attracted. Hemingway began writing the novel in 1946 and worked on it for 15 years and it remained unfinished at the time of his death. The longest manuscript for the novel was chosen for the final publication.
