This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover. 1985 Readers Digest Best Books series. Finely illustrated by David Frampton with afterword by Henry James. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp and clean with no markings seen. Olive green hardcover boards with black quarter trim are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The hardcover boards feature gold lettering along spine and 7 gables house design front cover along with title. This series of books from Readers Digest were designed to have a fine binding look for a basic book price. They are nice additions to any library without breaking the bank. The bindings are nice sewn bindings not traditional cheaper glued bindings and this adds to the "fine" binding touch. Standard medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 287 pages.
