This is a very good hardcover with accompanying dust jacket in acceptable as present dust jacket. 1937 Edition, Archeological Institute of America Marshall Jones Publishing. This is Volume 10 ONLY of the original 134 volume series, The Mythology of All Races published in 1916. This copy is very good inside and out. The inside pages are very good, clean with no markings seen but there is light natural tanning from age . Red cloth hardcover boards are also very good and clean with only very light shelf wear and gold design front and gold lettering on spine. The accompanying dust jacket is acceptable as present with extensive wear but it did do its job in protecting the hardcover underneath. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 325 pages.
The original series, The Mythology of All Races, published in 1916 established itself as the standard bearer for the field but several volumes were more popular than others. For that reason, several titles were republished in 1937 as "stand alone' volumes. This is one of the more popular volumes reprinted in 1937. It is Volume X only, North American Mythology. The text is accompanied by numerous color plates, each protected by tissue guard which is still in place in this copy. Black and white illustrations also compete the illustrations throughout. From the forests to the gulf, mountains to the deserts, North American Mythology is explored and detailed.
