This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover, SMALL pocket book size, please note 16mo book size or 4" x 6" designed as pocket book to carry in purse/pocket and read anywhere. Small book with smaller text to accommodate an unabridged and complete text. 2003 B&N Books, Collectors Library in fine binding. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Red cloth hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. Gold title lettering along spine. The fancy binding features gold tipped page edges and attached satin bookmark. The binding is done in durable fine sewn binding, not traditional or standard glued binding.
Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne was first published in 1872. The classic adventure story tells of Phileas Fogg and his valet who attempt to circumvent the world in 80 days. Fogg's friends at The Reform Club wager a bet on the adventure based on the opening of a new railway in India claiming the possibility of traveling around the world in 80 days. Fogg accepts the wager to complete such a journey. It was to become one of Verne's most acclaimed novels.
