This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1978 Book Club Edition Random House Publishing. This copy is very clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Red hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear. Crown octavo book size or 5.5" x 8.25" with 181 pages.
The Burglar in the Closet by Lawrence Block is a crime mystery starring Bernie Rhodenbarr, master of the picklock. "Break and Enter" Bernie enters Crystal's apartment. She is gone but her jewels are home. He begins to stuff his attaché case with bangles and beads. Next thing he knows is Crystal is home with a gentlemen friend in tow. Bernie is now hiding in the closet. But it gets worse. By the time Bernie gets out of the closet, Crystal is on ice.... and the ice in his case is gone. Cops want to arrest him for murder but one dishonest cop is willing to make a deal. Oh and add a crazy artist and nutty bartender and things really get wild.
