This is a very good larger hardcover. 1947 Bonanza Books. This copy is very clean inside and out. The inside pages are actually still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Green cloth hardcover boards are also very good with only very light shelf wear. Imperial octavo book size or 8" x 11" with 283 pages. Illustrated by the author. NO dust jacket, jacket missing.
Ghosts in Irish Houses by James Reynolds is a history of Ireland and the legends of ghosts that proliferate throughout the countryside. The author was one of the first to delve into this aspect of Irish history. In the preface he states that he has spent many years searching for material for the book. He collected hundreds of ghost stories and haunted houses. From the preface: "From over two hundred stories of ghostly visitors in Irish houses, I have selected the 22 that appear in this book. The stories of events which led up to these supernatural manifestations are, in many cases, human documents." The edition is finely illustrated with color paintings by the author.
