Beginning with Nantucket in the Eighteenth Century, this book is a history of New England and Nantucket. The third chapter is titled Decline, Resurgence and Politics after the American Revolution. Chapter Four is Robbery of the Nantucket Bank, First Suspects and Arrests. It continues with the court of inquiry, attorneys, justices, and prosecution. Later chapters delve into the aftermath of the robbery, the great Nantucket Fire, and ends with the discovery of petroleum and enterprise.
