This is a very good set of 2 hardcovers. 1906 Brentano's Publishing, New York. This set is very good inside and out. There is only light natural tanning to pages from age but they are clean with no markings seen. The bindings are tight and straight. Green hardcover boards with gold design front are also very good with only light shelf wear. Illustrations inside still have the tissue guards in place including tissue guards over illustrated title page both volumes. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 359 pages volume one and 386 pages volume two including index.

The Life of Benvenuto Cellini Written by Himself is edited and translated by John Addington with a biographical sketch of Cellini and intro upon Cellini the artist and writer by Royal Cortissoz and reproductions of original portraits illustrating his life.
Cellini was an Italian goldsmith, artist, sculptor and writer. Best known for the sculpture of Perseus with the Head of Medusa. His autobiography is considered culturally important.
