This is a very good hardcover, NO slipcase to accompany. 1947 Heritage Press. Originally published with an accompanying slipcase, this copy is very good inside and out but missing the original slipcase. Inside pages are still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Tan linen-look hardcover boards with design and lettering along spine are also very good with only very light shelf wear. The original Sandglass accompanying notes/pamphlet accompany this copy (see photo). Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 10" with 297 pages.
This is The American Poets; William Cullen Bryant from Heritage Press. It was edited by Louis Untermeyer with a commentary by the editor. It is finely illustrated with engravings by Thomas w. Nason and features a frontispiece portrait of Bryant from an engraving by Samuel F.B. Morse, 1825. Sections include; Thanatopsis and Other Poems, The Death of the Flowers and Other Poems, Later Poems, Hymns Written At Various Times, and an appendix of early and uncollected poems.
