This is a set of two mystery novels. Both in very good condition inside and out. Circa 1990's Ballantine Books and DoubleDay Publishing. They are hardcovers with dust jackets. Each are very good inside and out. The pages inside both are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The bindings are tight and straight. Hardcover boards under jackets are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jackets are both clean and still shiny with only very light shelf wear. Each is standard octavo book size or 6" x 9".
Mrs Pollifax and the Whirling Dervish is a mystery novel by Dorothy Gilman. Emily Pollifax is the pillar of the garden club and occasional agent for the CIA. As of late she has been tending her garden and grandchildren. She wonders if all the excitement and adventure of her CIA missions are a thing of the past. All the ends when she gets a call to accompany "Max" to Morocco to identify informants names. As soon as they arrive things go wrong. One informant is murdered as soon as they make contact, and Emily beings to believe "Max" is not who or what he seems.......

This time Mrs. Pollifax is in the Middle East to smuggle out the final manuscript of a dissident novelist, recently murdered. Posing as a tourist, her mission is to deflect suspicion from her accomplice, retired CIA agent Farrell. But the best laid plans change when on the airplane an unassuming business man slips something into her bag.... and soon the two "tourists" are being followed everywhere.....
