This is a very good hardcover, 1912 Scribners Publishing. This copy is good and clean inside and out. The pages only have very light natural tanning from age and are free of foxing. The only markings seen inside is previous owners name and date neatly written in script inside front cover (see photo). Rough cut page edges with gold gilt along top edge only. Blue hardcover boards feature tree and fruit design in gold the gold title/author lettering. The hardcover boards are also very good. The binding is tight and straight with all pages tight to binding but we did add a photo of a minor binding crack as you would expect in this age of a book. Crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" with 379 pages.

But, Richard is interested in philosophy not finance and decided to pursue his passion. Upon meeting a mysterious man, Richard is introduced to the concept of the unknown quantity. It challenges him to question his beliefs and set out on a journey of self-discovery. Themes of the meaning of life and identity are pervasive in the book.
