This is a very good collectible limited edition, signed hardcover. 1970 American Foxhound Club. This copy is number 1204 of 2500 signed by the editor, Alexander MacKay Smith. It is very clean inside and out. The pages are very clean with no markings seen inside. The binding is tight and straight. Red cloth hardcover boards are also very clean with only light shelf wear. There is a little bit of spotting along outer page edges top but does not carry over to inside pages. This is a large hardcover, quarto book size or 10" x 13" and 212 pages.
American Foxhunting An Anthology contains 79 classic stories, sketches, essays and poems illustrated by 128 paintings, drawings, prints and photos. They have been collected and annotated by Alexander MacKay Smith. The collection covers the past 200 years and is arranged chronologically. It begins with the hounds of Lord Fairfax and George Washington, the packs of the Gloucester Fox Hunting Club and of the Montreal Hunt.
