This is a good hardcover, PLEASE SEE CONDITION NOTES. 1916 Henry Holt Publishing. This copy is good inside and out. NOTE: inside front cover there is small tear to endpapers (see photo), AND although the pages are tight to binding, there is a crack in binding between pages 138-139 but pages are still tight to binding (see photo). All pages tight to binding and only showing very light natural tanning from age. So serious foxing or marks seen. Olive green hardcover boards are actually very good and clean with gold lettering front cover along with illustration of Franklin's printing press on cover and spine. Standard octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 346 pages.
The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is the unfinished record, written by Franklin, that records his life. It was written during the period between 1771-1790. It has become one of the most influential autobiographies ever written. Published over and over by various publishers, this edition features both black and white line drawings and color illustrations by E. Boyd Smith. The endpapers feature the Franklin arms and Franklin seal front and the medal given to Boston public schools by the funds left by Franklin. A black and white portrait of Franklin is featured opposite the intro and a full color "Franklin at the Court of Louis XVl" illustrations opposite title page. The original tissue guard at the title page illustration is still in place.
