This is a very good hardcover. 1903 MacMillan Publishing America Sportsmen's Library First Thus. This copy is very good inside and out. The inside pages show only very light natural tanning from age. There is no serious foxing or markings seen. The binding is tight and straight BUT NOTE: inside front cover between two blank pages there is the hinting of binding separation but consider mild thus as the pages are not loose. Regardless, care of handling and notation recommended. Rugh cut page edges. The top page edges were originally tipped in gold which is now faded and wearing but good as representable of original tip. Olive green cloth hardcover boards feature gold design front with gold lettering. Gold title/author/publisher lettering along spine. All the gold design and lettering are very good with only light wearing. The cloth boards show light wearing along corners/edges but overall very good given age. Octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 334 pages including index. Tissue guard missing from frontispiece.
From the book Foreword: "This volume is meant for the lover of the wild, free, lonely life of the wilderness and of the hardy pastimes known to the sojourners therein" Theodore Roosevelt.
