This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 1995 Houghton Mifflin Publishing. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only light shelf wear. Royal octavo book size or 7" 9.5" with 284 pages.
This is Shakespeare Stories, Volume Two only by Leon Garfield and superbly illustrated by Michael Foreman. The author presents in narrative form nine of Shakespeare's best-loved plays. He conveys the plots, characters, and setting of the original works, and reveals their unique theatrical impact. NOTE: the dramas are refashioned as stories, but much of Shakespeare's language is retained. The book is lavishly illustrated with black and white drawings along with 16 beautiful color plates. The stories contained in the collection are: Much Ado About Nothing, Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, Measure for Measure, As You Like It, Cymbeline, King Richard the Third, The Comedy of Errors, and The Winters Tale.
