This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 2000 Houghton Mifflin Publishing. This copy is clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean and the only marks we saw were a few pages with a small checkmark in pencil on margins. The binding is tight and straight. Hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is clean and shiny with only light shelf wear. Standard medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 386 pages including index.
Africa in My Blood by Jane Goodall is an extraordinary self-portrait in letters of her early years from childhood to the publication of In the Shadow of Man. It is a revealing and vivid portrait of this remarkable woman. The turning point of her life is when someone said to her, "If you are interested in animal, you must meet Louis Leakey". And she did. From there, she went to Gombe Stream Chimpanzee Reserve and the rest is history. The book features vintage photos of her young years and early arrival at Gombe.
