This is a very good hardcover, no dust jacket. 1944 Random House Publishing. This copy is clean inside and out. There is light natural tanning to pages from age and inside front and back cover tanning (see photo) but only occasionally and mildly seen on other pages. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards are very good with only light shelf wear and the blue boards give the appearance of blue linen cloth although they are not. Larger hardcover, imperial octavo book size or 9" x 11".
Literary England contains photos with accompanying text of places made memorable in English Literature. Preface by Christopher Morley. Fifty photos are featured along with an accompanying text describing the significance and/or an English author literary feature. The entire book is a photographic essay that highlights places such as; The Castle at Tintagel, The Abbey at Glastonbury, Swans on the Thames, The English Coast, Greenway House, Fleet Street, Keats Grove, An Oak in Sherwood Forest, Dickens' House, Bath, Wimpole Street, Piccadilly Circus, The Thirty-Nine Steps and more.
